Meghna Gulzar’s Next To Have Vicky Kaushal In The Lead

Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar is known to make films on intriguing and hard-hitting subjects. Just as she wrapped up the Deepika Padukone starrer Chhappak based on acid attack victim Laxmi Aggarwal, the director has announced her next. The movie will be based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and URI: The Surgical Strike actor Vicky Kaushal will bring his character alive on screen.

 

The actor has worked with Meghna previously in her directorial Raazi opposite Alia Bhatt, when he was fairly unknown as a mainstream actor. The powerful script of the yet to be titled film is written by Bhavani Iyer and Shantanu Shrivastava. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the yet to be titled movie will have lot of details of the Indo-Pak war and the partition in its narrative, thus the film will go on floors by 2021.
