Iconic Shaktimaan star Mukesh Khanna, renowned for his portrayal of Bhishma in Mahabharata, shared his opinion on the highly anticipated role of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. Recently, in an interview with Galatta India, he said he is more hopeful about Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana than he was with Adipurush, starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon.
Mukesh Khanna’s Take on Lord Ram’s Portrayal
He endorsed his thoughts on various aspects of the upcoming mythological saga, saying, 'They’re showing Rama climbing trees and shooting arrows. Krishna or Arjuna can do that, but Rama wouldn’t do it. If Rama proclaimed himself as a warrior, he would never ask monkeys to help him. He was enough one man against Ravana,' said Mukesh Khanna.
He further added, 'From what I can see, I don’t know if Ranbir Kapoor can pull off the Maryada Purushottam image of Rama. He’s a good actor, but he has an image chasing him and that’s Animal. I don’t have an objection to it. He could do it,” in the interview with Galatta India.

Shaktimaan Movie and Previous Remarks on Adipurush
Mukesh Khanna recently made headlines for the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the iconic superhero Shaktimaan, a role he famously portrayed in the television series. As per sources, he politely declined actor Ranveer Singh as the choice to play Shaktimaan, despite Ranveer Singh’s repeated attempts to convince him and his openly expressed keen interest in portraying the character.
Mukesh Khanna is well known for sharing his views on burning topics in the film industry, and in 2023, he openly slammed the makers of Adipurush for tarnishing the sacred scripture.
