The makers of mythological drama 'Adipurush' have announced a new release date of the film, delaying the project which is scheduled to hit the screens in January 2023. Pushing it back, but almost six months, director Om Raut revealed that the film will now hit the screens on June 16, 2023. When the teaser of the film was released online, it faced a lot of criticism from netizens, who criticized the film's poor VFX. Apart from this, 'Adipurush' was also accused of hurting religious sentiments by alleged misrepresentation of several mythological characters.

Om Raut shared, “Adipurush is not a film, but a representation of our devotions to Prabhu Shri Ram and commitment towards our sanskriti and history. In order to give a complete visual experience to the viewers, we need to give more time to the teams working on the film. Adipurush will now release on June 16th, 2023. We are committed to make a film that India will be proud of. Your support, love and blessings is what keeps us going." The film stars Prabhas as Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana. 'Adipurush' is said to be based on a huge budget.
