Agra a much-acclaimed psychological drama directed by Kanu Behl, casting is in process while Rahul Roy with sheer determination got himself this role. The casting however, was not the conventional way and after three-month workshop, multiple actors tested for the key roles and final decisions still up in the air for the other pivotal roles. While this uncertainty, entered Rahul Roy of the Aashiqui fame entered the space despite not having a confirmed role, he would show up daily from 9 am and stay until late night fully immersed in the process of casting himself in the role. 


Kanu Behl expressed for someone like Rahul Roy and his legacy to commit like it that, it was impossible to ignore him. However, the turning point came during a late-night chai with Roy who made a bold statement, ‘ Ye picture main hi karunga aur koi nahi Karega.  That was like his unwavering confidence which sealed the deal with him. He didn’t give me the choice; he cast himself said Behl!

Rahul Roy in the role of Daddy Ji marked one of his most significant screen appearances in the years, bringing emotional depth and gravitas to the film and the viral rumours of his family and personal life, firmly denying the claims of abandonment or his financial distress.  


The actor clarified that he lives with his sister and is well supported emphasizing that his choice is entirely his whether he is travelling or doing his rounds on social media reels is entirely his personal.
