Actor Sonakshi Sinha has worked in variety of films and shows and action pot boilers to police odd rom-coms.  She is entering in a legal drama space with her next film System.  Over 15 years of her career span she ensured she had found her own way into the Bollywood and not because of nepotism being the daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha.

Ahead of its release of her film System, a legal drama, Sonakshi Sinha found her character very relatable .

Sonakshi Sinha’s role in the film System.

The movie, ‘System’ is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari  starring Sonakshi as a young public prosecutor who teams up with a court stenographer(Jyothika) to fight a murder case against powerful businessman. The film addresses many issues that we may not think of but these are derived from real life stories or people, or real incidents and things actually happening around us. The film gets to you to start thinking about good stuff.

Her character as Neha Rajvansh is relatable but the woman she is layered, flawed and someone who makes her own mistakes and has her own demons which is the relatable part. It is about a woman who tries to prove herself and one who doesn’t get things handed over to them. In System, Neha comes from a family of lawyers. Her father who is one of the country’s top defense lawyers played by Ashutosh Gowariker.   But the narrative suggests he wants his daughter to prove herself as a prosecutor before she can join hands with him in his family business. It even leads Sonakshi Sinha’s role Neha to ask her dad, what kind of nepotism is this which she calls it a reverse nepotism.

Sonakshi on Reverse Nepotism.

Sonakshi seeing her role as Neha the prosecutor who has been asked to prove herself by her father in the film, she says it mirrors her life story in real to an extent that her father, the veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha had similar views when she was making her debut in the Bollywood films. He was like that that she has to prove herself.  He had told her it doesn’t matter who you are, or whose daughter you are, it is for you to prove yourself to get ahead in life and that’s how you get what you deserve. So that was very relatable to the storytelling of System, that Sonakshi recalls.

Sonakshi Sinha had begun her acting career opposite Salman Khan in Dabangg in 2010 and then found further success with Rowdy Rathore, Son of Sardaar and Holiday. She found critical acclaim with streaming OTT shows like Dahaad and Heeramandi. Her upcoming film is System slated for its release on Amazon Prime Video on May 22nd, 2026.
