“There’s definitely violence”- Sandeep Reddy Vanga on his upcoming film ‘Animal’ with Ranbir Kapoor

Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga became an overnight sensation after his debut Bollywood directorial Kabir Singh. The Shahid Kapoor starrer showed a different side of a man in love with some controversial violent scenes. The film however struck a chord with the Indian public. It also was a career defining role for Shahid. The star director is now ready to present his next film titled Animal, which will star Ranbir Kapoor. 

Speaking of similarities between Ranbir’s role in Animal and Shahid’s  in Kabir Singh, the director clarified, “I don’t think Ranbir’s character is close to Kabir Singh. You won’t find any similarity in the characters but there’s definitely violence. What will be common between both the movies is that they’re character-driven stories.” The unusual title of the film however has people thinking about Kapoor’s role, to this Sandeep added, “I even discussed with my ADs if Ranbir’s character has any shades of Kabir or Arjun (from Arjun Reddy). Even they didn’t find any similarity between the characters.” 

Actress Parineeti Chopra was to play the leading lady in Animal, however she has walked out of the project due to her commitment to Imtiaz Ali’s film Chamkila. The new actress of Animal will be announced soon!
