Varun-Kritis Bhediya Is Finally Releasing On OTT After 6 Months

It has been more than 6 months since Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon's film Bhediya released in theatres. This film of director Amar Kaushik became the 10th biggest grosser film of the year 2022. Fans were eagerly waiting for the release of Bhediya on OTT, they were waiting for a long time. There is good news for the fans of Varun-Kriti that now the OTT release date of Bhediya has come to the fore.

Bhediya is all set to release on 26th May on Jio Cinema. After the deal with the Film Federation of India, the window for release on OTT after cinema for Hindi films has been kept at least 8 weeks i.e. two months. But even after 6 months of release, Bhediya did not come on OTT, so the fans got worried. Now their wait is over.

However, not only Bhediya but Vikram Vedha is also releasing on the same platform almost 6 months after its premiere. Jio Cinema has aggressively started positioning itself as India's leading streaming giant. Just last month, at a press event, Jio Studios announced 100 projects that will be releasing on their streaming platform over the next few years. At present, Vikram Vedha and Bhediya are on the numbers, apart from this there is also Bloody Daddy in the line.

At a press event last month, Bhediya 2 was also officially announced. The film will hit the silver screens in 2025 and then will also hit streaming platforms within a few months of its theatrical release. Bhediya 2 will continue from where Stree 2 ends. For those unaware, Bhediya, Roohi and Stree are part of the horror-comedy universe of Maddock Films.
