A British Indian accountant named Kenny Gupta (Bhaskar) is transferred by Philip Glass, his supervisor, to a call centre in Mumbai. His responsibility is to make it profitable and turn it around. Tiffany Glass, played by Sophie Hunter, and Dev Raja, the manager of the neighbourhood phone centre, join Kenny (Ganatra). Following the pilot episode, Series 1 saw some significant alterations, with the character of Tiffany Glass being replaced by Terri Johnson (Beaumont), and the contact centre itself having a considerably more contemporary appearance.
