Malika Sherawat is said to have exploded the Indian Screen in 2003 with her first film Khwahish that created history in the Indian Cienma with her openly and bold kissing scenes . She is known as the Original Bollywood Bombshell. She further acted in more thrilling films like the Murder, which was the biggest Box Office release and a story that hit the headlines in Film news on the Extra Marital Affair depicted in this film. A bold topic again for the Indian masses that was lapped up by her fans and the Movie buffs alike. Malika had by then graced to be a cover girl for almost all the best publications like the Cosmopolitan, Filmfare, Femina, Man’s World and the Lond Based Snoop Magazine. She did a few more meaningful films like Kis Kis Ki Kismat, Bachke Rehna Re Baba, Shaadi se Pehle and Darna Zaroori Hai. She also became the first Indian Actress to star in a Jackie Chan film , the Myth which took her to Canes and Toronto . Her pictures were splashed across various Local and International Magazines including the prestigious Time magazine. She became popular for her commercial film on 7up and more variety of roles she had placed that established her as one of the most sought after Actress in Bollywood.Before she entered the filmworld she has appeared on the Television commercials with Amitabh Bachchan for BPL, with Shahrukh Khan for Santro . She also did a small role in Nirmal Pandey’s ‘ Maar Dala’ and in the music video launched by Surjit Bindrkhia. She did a small role in Jeena Sirf Merre Liya wherein the credits show her name as Reema Lamba. For her film ‘ Murder, she received a nomination for Best Actress at the Zee Cine Awards for her performance. The film went on to be one of the biggest hits of that year . Mallika Sherawat is known to express her opinions in public without any hesitation and some of them have received reaction from the masses. She has appeared in films like Aap Ka Suroor, Welcome the comedy sequel , Double Dhamaal, and she is one of the very few Indian actresses who has bagged a role in Hollywood films. In 2010 she acted in the films like Hisss and Politics of Love in 2011. She did a role in the film , The Myth , A Chinese film co-starring with Jackie Chan in the year 2005. She plays the role of an Indian Girl who saves Chan’s character from a river. The Myth was her first International film. She has appeared in the Cannes Film festival to promote the film and it secured a lot of attention in Time Magazines’s Richard Corliss calling Mallika Sherawat as ‘ the next big thing’ She is also seen in the 2006 film Pyaar Ke Side Effects with her co-star Rahul Bose which won her appreciation from the film industry and that she stole the show with her candour and grace. The film did moderately well in the box office. Her first release in 2007 was Mani Ratnam’s Guru in which she performed with the song “ Mayya Mayya’. She plays a guest role in Himesh Reshammiya’s Aap Ka Suroor and it is said she charged Rs. 15 million for a 10 minute appearance. Her last Bollywood release in 2007 was for the film Welcome which did exceptionally well at the Box Office and was a super hit for the humour and the comedy . She received favourable reviews as being Electrifying in the role she played in this film. What followed were her films in 2008 , Ugly Aur Pagli, and Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam both did badly at the Box Office. She later did a film Double Dhamaal which went on to receive moderate success at the Box office. She also appeared in Item Numbers in films such as Thank You , Bin Bulaye Baraati and Osthe a Tamil film. In 2012 she appeared in an Item number for the film Tezz In 2009. Mallika Sherawat starred in a Hollywood film Hisss, co- starring Irrfan Khan and directed by Jennifer Lynch. The story based on the legend of Naga and was an independent co- production between the United states and India.. She promoted the film with Live Snakes at the Cannes Film Festival in 2010. Hisss was released in all major Indian languages .She starred in Hollywood film Politics of Love, Aka Love , Barack directed by William Dear. She plays the role of Aretha Gupta a devoted local Obama Volunteer coordinator. The film is a set with a romantic comedy during Barack Obama;s campaign in the US Presidency. It was released in 2011. In 2012 Sherawat featured in the American Pop Star Bruno Mars in his parody video called the Salt-N-Pepa Whatta Man fro the comedy website Funny for Die. On 23 rd April 2014 Mallika starred in a reality dating show called Bachelorette India – Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika.
