Amitabh Bachchan And Rekha's 1981 Twisted Romantic Movie Silsila

We know bring to you one of the most talked about and a superhit film that also raised a little bit of controversy when the film released as the film was famous for its multi star cast and also the story that was believed to be the real-life love triangle of three famous stars. Featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan, Rekha and Sanjeev Kumar was directed by Yash Chopra with a guest appearance by Shashi Kapoor.
This romantic film was about a love story between a Squadron Leader in Indian Air Force Shekar Malhotra essayed by Shashi Kapoor and the lovely lady Shobha (Jaya Bachchan). Amit Malhotra is his brother a dreamer and writer essayed by Amitabh Bachchan, in love with Chandni essayed by Rekha. Both the couples were blissfully in a courtship looking forward to their respective marriages when Shobha becomes pregnant out of a wedlock and Shekhar is killed in the Airforce Aircraft. To save Shobha and her family from an embarrassment of an unwed mother, Amit marries the love of his elder brother leaving Chandni heartbroken. Tragedy strikes again when Shoba loses Shekhar’s baby thus it kind of set free Amit of the responsibility.
Accidently Chandni and Amit meet up and realize they are still in love with each other and they decide to clandestinely meet one an another as there is no binding factor now with Shobha. However, Chandni in the meantime is married to Dr. Anand essayed by Sanjeev Kumar a fun loving happy jovial man. Their clandestine meeting ends up in a police scuffle while Shoba’s cousin Kulbhushan Kharbanda a police inspector wants to expose their illicit relationship. Both their spouses had seen their closeness during the Holi celebrations and are aware of their extra marital affair. However, there is a change of heart when they both realize they are attached to their respective spouses, are bounded to them and that they love their spouse immensely.
The estranged couple break ties with their ex-lovers and return to their home to restart with a new beginning, thus ending the film on a happy note when Amit learns that his wife is once again pregnant with his child and they live a happily married life thereafter.
Here we end one more romantic tale of Amitabh Bachchan films. Though he was portrayed as the angry young man he was one of the most romantic heroes in our Hindi Cinema.
