Kedarnath is a wealthy man who comes to visit his friend Narayan in the village. He meets Narayan’s wife, and daughter Rani and is highly impressed by the latter. He proposes that Rani grace his house by marrying his son Rajesh. Narayan and Laxmi cannot believe their luck and immediately agree to the marriage. The marriage takes place with great pomp and fare and Rani moves into Kedarnath’s house. However his wife and sister-in-laws are not at all welcoming to her and this distresses Rani. They make her life a living hell by humiliating her, physically abusing her and belittling her. Rajesh’s mother is in the meanwhile preparing for him to marry another rich girl called Sona, who will bring in a humongous amount of dowry. But little do they know that this girl has plans of her own. The film is directed by Harmesh Malhotra and produced by Pradeep Sharma. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and the screenplay is written by K B Pathak. The star cast includes Jeetendra,Rishi Kapoor,Raj Babbar, Rekha, Neelam, Urmila Bhatt and Poonam Dhillon.
