Andhra King Taluka is an upcoming Telugu-language masala drama directed and written by Mahesh Babu P. Known for blending emotion with entertainment, Mahesh Babu P. brings a nostalgic tribute to fan culture. The film stars Ram Pothineni, Upendra Rao, Bhagyashri Borse, Murali Sharma, Rao Ramesh, Rahul Ramakrishna, VTV Ganesh, and Satya. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, in collaboration with T-Series, the film is also the first Telugu movie for music composer duo Vivek-Mervin, which promises a colourful soundtrack to fit the high-energy film.

The story follows Sagar (Ram Pothineni), a die-hard fan of the iconic superstar Surya (Upendra Rao), referred to by his fans as the “Andhra King”. Taking place in the early 2000s, Andhra King Taluka represents the joy and madness around first-day, first-show film premieres, the hustle of getting tickets, and the friendships created through fandom. As Sagar's fan obsession grows, his life continues to feature moments of joy, sadness and self-discovery. All of which are dictated by his fandom.

Pothineni, in particular, plays Sagar with such enthusiasm and energy that you feel the refreshing innocence and determination of a real fan. Rao as Surya certainly delivers the icon, which you feel is larger than life, and Bhagyashri Borse offers the right amount of warmth and grounding as Sagar's love interest. Murali Sharma, Rao Ramesh, and VTV Ganesh surround with humour and depth of emotion in their portrayals of people who both uplift and challenge Sagar in his journey.

The film is expected to release in the latter half of 2025, with no confirmed date yet. The first glimpse of the title, which was released on May 15, 2025, has been received well, with the praise focusing on the playful nostalgia and relatable fan moments. Fans should see Andhra King Taluka for the love of fandom, the colourful period setting, performances that highlight the passion and inspiration that films can cultivate across generations.
