Murali Sharma

Murli Sharma appeared as Captain Khan in 2004 in Bollywood film in an antagonist role in Main Hoon Na alongside Shah Rukh Khan. In 2007, he had appeared in films like Dhol, Dhamaal, Black Friday and later in many Telugu films such as Athidhi and Kantri. He received the Nandi Award for his dual role of Kaiser/ Ajay Shastri in Athidi . In 2008 Murali Sharma made a special appearance.

 He made an appearance in Bollywood’s film Jaane Tu…. Ya Jaane Na and appeared in Golmaal Returns and in Sunday. In  2011,  Murali Sharma acted in supporting roles in Singham, Oosaravelli Starring Jr. NTR and Dhoni and in Telugu films.  He continued to work in Hindi and Telugu films and in 2012, he had his first role in Malayalam film called Karmayodha starring Mohanlal.  In 2013, he worked in the Tamil and Marathi film industries and made a name for himself.

In 2015, he had larger roles in Gopala Gopala and Bhale Bhale Magadiyoy. He also worked in films like Badlapur, ABCD 2 and in Tamil Film Paayam Puli.  In 2016, he appeared in Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha , Savithri, Sanam Teri Kasam and in Wazir. He was also in the main role in the film DJ Duvvaada Jagannadham in 2017 and 2018 Agnyaathayaasi and Vijetha and in 2019 he worked in Saaho and, Sarileru Neekeyyaru and in the film Street Dancer which was a 3D.  He played the role of Valmiki in the film Ala Vaikuntapuramloo.

In 2021, Murali Sharma has appeared in films such as A1 Express, Sreekaram, Jathi Ratnalu and Chhavu Kaburu Challaga.

Murali Sharma’s most recent and latest films have spanned across several major Indian films featuring prominently in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil which have released in 2025 and 2026.  He has mostly acted in supporting roles and he continues to expand with his high-profile projects.

His recent 2026 releases and few upcoming projects are The Raja Saab released early in 2026 featuring and ensemble of star cast.  He was also a part of Vishnu Vinayasam a Tulugu drama comedy film that was released in February 2026.  Saraswathi/ S. Saraswathi a Telugu suspense thriller that is slated for 2026 release.  Nagabandham -The Secret Treasure a multi lingual action drama that is lined up for 2026 release.

The India Story is under production in Hindi and is a drama featuring Murali Sharma.

He portrayed Brigadier Sukhveer Singh in Jaat, the action heavy Hindi feature film released in 2025. In Game Changer he acted as a Ram Charan in the political action drama.  In Odela 2 in 2025, he had essayed the character of Allah Bakshu in the supernatural thriller film.  In the Telugu production film Mazaka, he featured as Bhargav Varma. In Pintu Ki Pappi, a light hearted Hindi romantic comedy drama he had a role as well and the Kiss Kiss Kissik a multi lingual comedy romantic drama released early this year in which he had a role to play.

His other films that were prominent in the year 2024 were Tillu Square in which he played Sheikha Mehboob, in Rathnam he played Beema Rayudu, Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan a Tamil action drama featuring him as Surla IPS  and in Toofan another rugged Telugu action thriller.

Murali Sharma has won the Nandi Award for Best Villain in 2007, He received the Filmfare Award South and the SIIMA Award for Best Supporting Actor in Telugu for Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in 2021.   The New Life Theological University also awarded Murali  Sharma an honorary doctorate for his contributions to the welfare of the society in the year 2021.
