Naan Mahaan Alla

“Naan Mahaan Alla” (2010) by Suseenthiran is a Tamil action film. stars Karthi, Kajal Aggarwal, and Jayaprakash. The film follows a happy-go-lucky youngster whose world turns dark after a personal tragedy pushes him onto a path of revenge.

Jeeva, a happy young man from a middle-class family in Chennai, lives with his parents and sister. He falls in love with Priya, a girl from a rich family. To win her father’s approval, Jeeva takes up a job but loses it. Meanwhile, his father Pragasam, a taxi driver, unknowingly becomes a witness to a murder by a gang of 5 young men. After surviving an attempt on his life, Pragasam tries to help the police identify the gang, but the killers strike again. Using a fake call and public chaos, they kill him in broad daylight. Jeeva is devastated by his father’s death and pretends to drop the case but secretly decides to hunt down the killers to prevent them from harming anyone else.

With the help of his gangster friend Kutti Nadesan, Jeeva identifies the culprits one by one. He captures Pey Babu, the guy who helped plan his father’s murder and uses him to lure the gang. But the gang intervenes, kills Pey Babu and a violent chase follows and one of them gets hit by a train. Jeeva attends the killer’s funeral hoping to find the remaining boys. They escape but later fall into a trap at the beach. The gang kills Nadesan and his men. Jeeva arrives, fights the gang, defeats them all, buries their bodies and walks away.

With emotional resonance and bloody action, “Naan Mahaan Alla” offers a gritty portrayal of how quickly normal lives can be shattered by violence and how far a son will go to set things right.
