In a surprising turn just before the eagerly awaited release of Housefull 5, a copyright dispute has flared up surrounding the film’s teaser. The teaser, which dropped on April 30 via the official Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment YouTube channel, was abruptly taken down on May 9 following a copyright claim by Mofusion Studios. The issue centers around the song ‘Laal Pari’, which features prominently in the teaser and is composed by renowned music artist Yo Yo Honey Singh.

The takedown stunned fans and sparked confusion across Bollywood. However, Yo Yo Honey Singh escalated the dispute by issuing a formal declaration claiming full ownership of ‘Laal Pari’ and affirming that he had granted exclusive rights to Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. This move prompted Sajid Nadiadwala, the producer of Housefull 5, to file defamation suits worth Rs 25 crores each against both Mofusion Studios and YouTube.

A source close to the production told Bollywood Hungama that the production house was shocked by YouTube's decision to remove the teaser without prior communication. With over 1.6 million subscribers and a clean history, Nadiadwala Grandson believes YouTube acted hastily, damaging the brand’s reputation and causing significant disruption to their marketing campaign.

Although the teaser was taken down, it continues to be available on platforms like Instagram, where Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Akshay Kumar have reshared it. The film, directed by Tarun Mansukhani and boasting an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, and Sonam Bajwa, is slated for release on June 6, 2025, during Bakri Eid.

With the teaser’s fate hanging in the balance, fans are eager for YouTube’s next move. As the legal battle unfolds, the Housefull 5 controversy has already ignited intense interest, keeping Bollywood’s latest comedy spectacle firmly in the spotlight.
