A while ago Bollywood ace producer Ronnie Screwvala had tweeted, “1500+ goals, 3 Olympic gold medals, and a story of India’s pride. It gives us immense pleasure to announce our next with #AbhishekChaubey - a biopic on the Hockey Wizard of India- #DHYANCHAND.” This was an exciting piece of news for fans. Now there is some equally enthralling news. Khaali Peeli actor Ishaan Khatter has been roped in to play the lead in the film. The actor has loved the script and is keen to jump on board but has yet to sign on the dotted. The film will most likely go on floors next year. 

The Dhyan Chand biopic will be directed by Abhishek Chaubey who said, “Dhyan Chand is one of the greatest hockey players in the history of our national sport, and it’s a matter of pride to direct his biopic. We had a massive amount of research material in hand, and honestly, every achievement of his life deserves a separate story in itself.” Ishaan meanwhile will be seen in Pippa opposite Mrunal Thakur and Priyanshu Painyuli. He also has Phone Bhoot with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Katrina Kaif.
