Jawan Movie Will Shah Rukh Khan's Blockbuster Beat KGF 2's Box Office Record And Become The 4th Biggest Indian Movie Ever

Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, is approaching the end of its remarkable box office run. The big question on everyone's mind is whether it has what it takes to become the first-ever Hindi movie to gross more than Rs 600 crore solely from its native language release. So far, Jawan has collected a total of Rs 636 crore from all languages, with around Rs 60 crore coming from the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions.

In terms of Hindi collections, the movie has made Rs 577 crore, suggesting that it may be a challenge to earn an additional Rs 23 crore at this stage of its release. During its sixth weekend, Jawan earned over Rs 9 crore, partly fueled by discounted ticket prices on National Cinema Day. On its 40th day in theatres, the film managed to earn approximately Rs 60 lakh across India, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk.

On a global scale, Jawan's earnings currently stand at Rs 1138 crore, making it the fifth-highest-grossing Indian film of all time. However, it is now closing in on the lifetime grosses of KGF Chapter 2 and RRR, which range from Rs 1215 crore to Rs 1230 crore. The top two highest-grossing Indian movies are Baahubali 2: The Conclusion with Rs 1780 crore and Aamir Khan's Dangal with Rs 2400 crore, mainly collected from China in 2016.

It's worth mentioning that the combined earnings of Jawan and Pathaan do not match the total gross of Dangal. However, it should be considered that China is not the same open market it once was before the pandemic, and neither Jawan nor Pathaan were allowed to release there. Directed by Atlee, Jawan was Shah Rukh Khan's first pan-India movie, featuring supporting roles from Tamil stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi.
