The legendary veteran Amitabh Bachchan has revealed he is busy filming the much-awaited sequel of Kalki 2898 AD. The actor confirmed the shoot through an emotional blog post and shared exclusive behind the scenes glimpses. 


Amitabh Bachchan has shared his transformed look as Ashwatthama in a candid reunion with the legend Kamal Haasan. Expressing his excitement, the two icons of the Indian cinema are collaborating again after decades. Their last film was Giraftar in 1985. 


The Sequel of Kalki has commenced amidst speculation surrounding the casting of the film. 


Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sequel has commenced and the reports suggested besides the two stalwarts of the film industry, Deepika Padukone may not return as Sumathi. The buzz indicates it could be Sai Pallavi is in talks with the director to step into the role. However, the makers have been tight lipped and haven’t confirmed on the same. 


With the production underway now, with great anticipation around the epic sic-fi saga, Kalki 2 is surely a highly anticipated sequel of the 2024 blockbuster. The film went on floor with its production phase in Hyderabad on February 24th, 2026. 


Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan will be seen on screen after nearly 40 years.


The narrative will dive deeper into the connection between Bhairava essayed by Prabhas, and his past life as the legendary warrior Karna along with his dynamics with Ashwatthama essayed by Amitabh Bachchan. 


While its not officially announced the makers have indicated to target the release of Kalki 2 in October 2027.
