Indian cinema is slowly crossing over borders and making its presence felt on the world platform. This is evident in the recently held International Queer Film Festival Playa Del Carmen in Mexico, where the Indian LGBT feature film titled ‘Evening Shadows’ won actress Mona Ambegaonkar her 4th award as the Best Actress. The actress plays a mother who is struggling to cope with her son’s sexual preferences in a small town.

Mona also won the best actress awards at the Rainbow Film Festival, UK, movies Film Festival in Italy and OUT at the Movies Int'l LGBT Film Fest in USA. Evening Shadows is directed by Sridhar Rangayan and also stars Devansh Doshi, Anant Mahadevan and Arpit Chaudhary in leading roles.
