Rajveer Deol has stated that his father, Sunny Deol, and his entire family didn't want him to take up acting as a profession. Speaking at the trailer launch of his debut film "Dono," Rajveer said that his father was concerned about the financial instability in the industry and wanted him to stay away from films. Rajveer Deol is Sunny Deol's youngest son.

The Film Industry is Unpredictable

A PTI report quotes Rajveer as saying that his parents never wanted him to become an actor and instead hoped he would focus on his studies and pursue something else. "This is because the industry is so unpredictable. You're happy one moment and sad the next. My dad got a hit ('Gadar 2') after 22 years. Unfortunately, I fell in love with acting," he said. Sunny Deol was present at the trailer launch of "Dono," along with his brother Bobby Deol and cousin Abhay Deol.

Rajveer Fell in Love with Acting

When asked about how he developed a love for acting, Rajveer said that he was always influenced by movies and enjoyed acting. "I realized one can immerse oneself in characters. So, I wanted to do this. My family advised me to work hard and told me not to become a star but an actor first, as characters get more work and that's what I want to do," he said.

Rajveer: 'They Expected Me to Beat Up 100 People'

Rajveer shared that his father Sunny Deol instilled in him the values of dedication, steadfast resolve, and never giving up. "He has the strongest back, carrying his entire life on his back," Rajveer added. He also said that he deliberately chose a romantic film for his debut to avoid being typecast in the image of his father and grandfather. "Like, they expected me to choose the option of beating up 100 people, screaming and maintaining a big physique. I loved this art and I love acting. I realized if I got typecast, it wouldn't be a good idea," Rajveer said, "It's important to have your own personal imprint in this industry."

Directed by Avnish Barjatya, son of Sooraj Barjatya, "Dono" also marks the debut of Poonam Dhillon's daughter Paloma. The film is set to release in theaters on October 5th.
