Marathi filmmaker Sameer Vidwans is elated and over the moon that his directorial Anandi Gopal won not one but two prestigious awards at the 67th National Film Awards. It won in the categories of - best feature film on social issues and production design. The filmmaker is grateful that the jury considered his film at a National level. He even shared a snapshot of his film being announced and wrote, “And this was a speechless moment...” The film is based on the journey of India’s first female doctor and starred Lalit Prabhakar and Bhagyashree Milind in leading roles. 


Anandi Gopal is a groundbreaking Marathi film and was released on 15th February 2019. It also stars Geetanjali Kulkarni and Yogesh Soman in pivotal roles.
