Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor was a talent powerhouse. He gave us memorable performances in films in the last few years like Mulk, Agneepath, Shuddh Desi Romance, Love Aaj Kal and many more. The Hindi film industry lost the humble soul last year in April after a battle with cancer, leaving a huge void. The actor’s last film was ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ starring Juhi Chawla. The actress announced that the film will release on Kapoor’s birth anniversary on 4th September honoring the actor. Talking about the film she said, “it’s one if the sweetest, warmest and funniest scripts I’ve heard in some time. When it was first narrated to me, I was excited! The dialogues and moments of the entire film keep you smiling and chuckling with laughter, and Chintuji’s role was tailor made for him.”

Sharmaji Namkeen is directed by debutante director Hitesh Bhatia and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Honey Trehan. Rishi Kapoor completed most of the film’s shooting in the beginning of 2020. However, after his demise Paresh Rawal stepped into his shoes for the last few scenes. Juhi and Rishi have previously collaborated in films like Bol Radha Bol, Luck By Chance and Eena Meena Deeka.
