In the 2000s Juhi began working with independent filmmakers in Art-House projects and her work received appreciation for the films she acted such as Jhankaar Beats in 2003, 3 Deewarein in 2003, My Brother Nikhil in 2005, Bas Ke Pal in 2006, I am in 2011 and Gulaab Gang in 2014. Juhi Chawla shed her girl next door image with the film Lootere and transformed herself into the Bollywood sex siren with Main Teri Rani Tu Raja Mera song. She stole the show as her acting is considered as flawless and her screen presence coupled with her beauty made her one of the most popular film actresses of that year. Her next release as the coy sister of the firebrand Amrita Singh in the film Aaina co-starring with Jackie Shroff. was a big hit at the Box office solidifying Juhu's position not only in the film but also in the Film Industry. For this film, Juhi was awarded the Best Actress Award at the 13th London Asian Film Festival for her Excellence in Hindi Cinema at the Asiavision Movie Awards. Her comeback after a sabbatical for the woman-oriented film ' Gulaab Gang' with Madhuri Dixit. This was the first time in her long career that she played the role of an antagonist and her villainous avatar overpowers Madhuri Dixit's role in this film. Juhi Chawla is always a delight to watch and is known for her angelic roles, playing a mean evil woman and she shines in her role opposite the Dhak Dhak Girl Madhuri Dixit with whom she shared her screen persona in one frame for this film.
