Swara Bhaskar To Play Shabana Azmi’s Role In Arth Remake

The upcoming yet to be titled Revathi directorial will be a remake of Mahesh Bhatt’s 1982 movie Arth. The film was one for path breaking cinema and its story revolved around a husband, his wife and a second woman who enters their happily married life. The original movie’s star cast included Smita Patil, Shabana Azmi and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.

 

As reported earlier, Jacqueline Fernandez is most likely to play the role of Smita Patil. Now actress Swara Bhaskar has been roped in to play Shabana Azmi’s role in the movie, who is the estranged wife. The film will go on floors by this year end and the Nil Battey Sannata actress will begin filming around January. The makers are still on the hunt for the leading man in the movie. Swara was last seen in Veere Di Wedding also featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor.
