The director and the producers of the film, ' Behen Hogi Teri' were arrested for hurting religious sentiments and showing the actor Rajkummar Rao dressed as Shiva and sitting on a bike. The filmmakers were released on Friday evening on bail. The case is being taken up by Jalandhar's leading lawyers.
In April when co producer of the film, Amul Vikas Mohan, had released a poster on tweeter with Rajkummar Rao and Shruti Haasan in which Rajkummar Rao is seen in a get up of Lord Shiva sitting on a motorcycle. Many at that time had wondered if the poster would create an outburst and invite a rage from religious groups and it did.
Now after a month in Jalandhar, residents have taken the poster offensive and have filed a criminal complaint against the makers of the film by a local Hindu group that the Lord Shiva has been made commercialised in the film and has it has hurt the religious sentiments. The director of the film, Ajay K Pannalal and producer Tony D'Souza were arrested following the complaint lodged. The procedure had been going on for over a month and the producer-director had not responded to the queries and would switch off their mobiles. Therefore the arrests warrant were issued against them.
' Behen Hogi Teri' starring Rajkummar Rao and Shruti Haasan is helmed by Ajay Pannalal , a romantic comedy film which unfortunately landed the film in a legal battle. The fate of the film is yet to be known.
