'Jab Harry Meet Sejal' promo on the television gets in trouble with the CBFC for showing the mini -trailer on the television . Chief of CBFC expresses his resentment.
Pahlaj Nihalani the chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification expressed his displeasure and resentment on the promos of the film, Jab Harry Met Sajal being broadcasted as a mini-trailer on the television without first obtaining a certification or permission .The Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer by Imtiaz Ali showed clips in a mini trailer in which Anushka Sharma is seen handing over an indemnity bond to Shah Rukh Khan saying there won't be any legal implication if the couple ends up having an intercourse.
Pahlaj Nihalani expressed in his interview with News X, not to interfere in the work of CBFC and said ' We are doing our work you do your own work' . He went on to say CBFC has yet to give a certification for this film and as of now only a certificate of clearance is given only for digital. But then for digital platform a certification is not required.
The Media is doing a wrong thing by showing the mini-trails of 30 seconds each from the film on the television which requires a prior certification. Producers are not showing the trails , the media is which has found their way on to several other television channels. He further stated that it does not matter where the trailer is from but if one wants to show it on the television, it requires a proper certification and that is a rule that everyone knows. So if the television channels know of this rule how can they show the material of Jab Harry Met Sajal without prior permission.
It is a known fact that mini trails which is of 30 seconds a clip from the film is meant only for digital consumption and never for a wider television audience.
