Biography

Anjali Patil’s first feature film was with Prashant Nair’s Hindi-English International Independent Film Delhi in a Day. Her portrayal as Rohini premiered at Mumbai Film Festival on October 13th, 2011. She was awarded the IFFI Best Female Actor in 2012 at the World Premiere Newton Zoo Palast Berlinale with Pankaj Tripathi in 2017.


Between 2010 and 2011, Anjali Pati worked as the lead actress and producer of an international short film Green Bangles. It was one of the films selected as India’s official entry to WIFTI (Women in Film and Television International Los Angeles) wherein it was eventually screened in 44 cities and in 15 countries. In 2012. Anjali later worked in Prakash Jha’s film which was related to the Naxalism called Chakrayyuh. Patil received rave reviews on her role as the fierce Naxal leader Juhi.


Anjali also has had an international collaboration with the much-acclaimed Sri Lankan writer director Prasanna Vithanage. Anjali Patil has done the dubbing herself that makes her the first actress to dub in the Sinhala language. She has given her stellar performance and won the Silver Peacock Award for Best Actor Female at the International Film Festival held in Goa in 2012. She is one of the youngest actors to have received the award back then. Anjali Patil has also received the Presidential Award of Sri Lanka for her performance in 2017.


Anjali Patil in 2016 did her first Marathi film, The Silence with Nagraj Manjule as the co-actor for which she received the Filmfare Award. She had a pivotal role in Mirzya from Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra released in 2016. She then went on to collaborate with him as the lead in Mere Pyare Prime Minister in 2018. She has performed as Gondi speaking Malko -Adivasi BLO in Newton with Rajkumar Rao which was highly applauded after its release in 20167 across all levels.


Anjali Patil has also played a bold and fierce activist Puyal in Pa. She worked with Ranjith Kaala with Rajnikanth that helped her create a niche in the Tamil film industry. Her next venture in Tamil films was Kuthiraivaal which was screened at the International Film Festival.


Patil then started work with web series called Hutatma, a story based on the Samyukta Maharashtra Samiti. She had received the prestigious Ma TA Sanmaan for Best Actress for her performance in this series. In 2020 she was again in a web series on Amazon Prime Video called the Afsos starring alongside Gulshan Devaiah in the lead role. Anjali there after worked in ad film for Syntex and urged people to take a pledge to save rivers.


Anjali Patil’s new released film is The Narmada Story which premiered on June 12th 2026. She also starred in Charak: Fair of Faith which was released in March 2026 and her earlier film was in Marathi called Malhar released in June 2024.
