Biography
Ramakant Dayama was a versatile character actor. He is known for his impactful, warm and authentic roles which were mostly as a supporting actor. He worked in Hindi and Marathi films, television shows, commercial advertisements and in theatre. He built a multi decade legacy for himself as he was a highly dependable and respectable performer in the Indian entertainment industry.
Dayama has collaborated with numerous major actors and directors and has left a distinct mark with his natural screen presence. Some of the films that he is remembered often are Scam 1992:The Harshad Mehta Story .He essayed the role of Harshad Mehta’s father, Shantilal Mehta. The audience had widely praised his performance for the intense and emotional scenes that he had essayed with sincerity.
He appeared in Chak De! India , the iconic sports drama starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
His other major Hindi films are Crew starring alongside, Tabu, Kareena Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, Ram Setu, Brothers, Dhanak and Mumbai Saga.
Besides theatre and films, he expanded his reach to the modern OTT streaming giants and got popularity with the series Farzi and The Trial.
