When Tinu Anand was getting finalized for the role in Saat Hindustani, Satyajit Ray sent a letter to Tinu Anand’s father asking him to send him to become his assistant. He could not refuse the offer and he apologized to Ahmad Abbas and excused himself and he suggested Amitabh Bachchan for the role and thus Amitabh Bachchan ended up doing the role , that was a life changing moment for the super star.  In fact, Khwaja Ahmad Abbas was looking for a tall man to play this character and Amitabh Bacchhan fitted in perfect.
