A pregnant Vidya Bagchi, played by Vidya Balan comes to Kolkata from London to desperately search for her husband Arnab Bagchi missing. She goes to the police station to report him missing and an officer named Rana, played by Parambrata Chatterjee helps her. She says her husband had come to the city on an assignment for National Data Center (NDC) but investigation shows that no such person has been employed there. They go to the HRD head Agnes to ask her but after seeing her husband’s photo she says that her husband looks similar to a former employee Milan Damji. Later that night Agnes is found murdered in her apartment by an assassin called Bob. Rana and Vidya break into the NDC office and retrieve Milan Damji’s files but barely escape Bob.

 

Later Bob tries to kill Vidya but dies in an accident. It is also revealed that Damji is the man responsible for a gas poisoning on a train and the cops too are looking for him. Later she meets Damji and he asks for the important file she has but she refuses and he tries to shoot her but is saved by her prosthetic belly as she was faking her pregnancy. She stabs Damji to death. Later Rana and the police officer arrive to  learn that Vidya and Arnab Bagchi don’t exist, they are made up by Vidya to reach her motives.

 

Later it is revealed that Vidya’s husband was killed during the gas leak and she also had a miscarriage. Thus she wanted avenge their death. The movie is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Kushal Kantilal Gada and Sujoy Ghosh.
