Namak (1996)

Gopal works as a servant for the Sharma family and is loyal to them. The Sharma family consists of Kedarnath, his wife, son Prabhat and two daughters. One day while playing Prabhat accidentally shoots Gopal. He fears he will be arrested and jailed forever, thus runs away. Gopal recovers and stays with the sharma family. The daughters too get married to their respective boyfriends. The daughter’s husbands along with Kedarnath’s brother-in-law hatch a plan to kill Kedarnath. He is however rescued by Gopal. Meanwhile Kedarnath passes away one day when Gopal returns home. His wife names Gopal as the heir to all the property. When Prabhat hears of his father’s death he comes home. He then hatches a plan to not only get Gopal out of the will but also kill his mother and Gopal so he can inherit the entire estate. The movie is directed and produced by Kanwal Sharma. The music is composed by Anu Malik and the lyrics are written by Indeevar and Hasrat Jaipuri. The screenplay is written by Praful Parekh. The cinematography is by Dilip Dutta and the choreography is by Kamal. The star cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Farah Naaz, Shammi Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Shakti Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Raza Murad, Paintal, Jagdeep, Dinesh Hingoo, Nirupa Roy, Amita Nangia, Sahila Chaddha, Fatima Shaikh and Poonam.
