In the city of Bharat Nagar the government’s construction is underway to built a International Business Park (IBP) and make it more like Shanghai. Dr. Ahmadi comes to Bharat Nagar for a speech where he criticizes the infrastructure that will destroy the life of the poor and their needs. He is later attacked by a mob and run over by a tempo and is hospitalized in a state of coma. Shalini, played by Kalki Koechlin, his former student knows this was a planned attack. She is informed by Jogi, played by Emraan Hashmi that he has evidence in a tape.
Dr. Ahmadi’s wife demands the truth and starts a media campaign. This forces the CM to set up an inquiry commission which is headed by Krishnan, who later summons SSP Chavan. Shalini and Jogi present the CD containing evidence of Ahmadi’s murder by IBP goons. A riot begins where Shalini and Jogi are attacked but they escape and hide. Shalini later learns that the man who ran the tempo over Ahmadi is her maid’s husband Jaggu. Meanwhile Dr. Ahmadi’s family take the tough decision of taking him off life support. Shalini writes a book on the entire IBP controversy while Jogi vanishes.
The movie is directed by Dibakar Banerjee and produced by Ajay Bijli, Dibakar Banerjee, Sanjeev K Bijli and Priya Sreedharan. The music is composed by Vishal-Shekhar.
