Bollywood And Tollywood Stand United In Support Of Operation Sindoor
A wave of patriotism has swept through India’s entertainment industry after the triumphant execution of Operation Sindoor, a high-stakes counter-terror operation conducted in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives.
In the early hours of May 7, a coordinated mission involving the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy struck and neutralised nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including a prominent Lashkar-e-Taiba base in Bahawalpur.
Film Fraternity Salutes the Forces
As the news broke, celebrities from both Bollywood and regional industries took to social media to express admiration for the Armed Forces. Akshay Kumar, who is currently promoting Housefull 5, posted a brief but powerful 'Jai Hind, Jai Mahakaal.'
Vicky Kaushal, known for his roles in patriotic films like Uri and the recent hit Chhaava, shared the national tricolour with the caption: 'Jai Hind Jai Sena #OperationSindoor.' Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut wrote, 'They said tell Modi. Well, Modi has replied.'
Several others joined in, including Sara Ali Khan, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Vineet Kumar Singh, who hailed the operation and mourned the Pahalgam victims. Rajkummar Rao wrote on X, “Our hearts go out to the victims. Today, we feel proud and hopeful.”
Southern Stars Add Their Voice
Support also poured in from Tollywood. Allu Arjun tweeted, 'Justice must prevail. Salute to our bravehearts. Jai Hind.'Icons like Chiranjeevi and Riteish Deshmukh echoed similar sentiments. Meanwhile, Anupam Kher and director Madhur Bhandarkar emphasised unity, posting: “In moments like these, the nation stands as one.”
Backlash and Artistic Divide
On the other side of the border, Pakistani actors such as Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan condemned the operation, calling it 'a display of aggression.' In response, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reiterated its ongoing prohibition on Pakistani talent within the Indian film industry.
