Border 2, A sequel of 1997 J.P.Dutta’s Border is directed by Anurag Singh is set to hit the theatres on January 23rd 2026 to coincide with the India’s Republic Day weekend.   

Ahead of the film’s theatrical release, the makers of the film took to the social media handles to share the trailer of the much-awaited film leaving the fans in and the internet buzzing with excitement.

Loaded with Sunny Deol’s powerful high-pitched dialogues and the performance by other stars in the film strikes an emotional chord leaving the viewers overwhelmed and wanting to see more.   The film reflects Sunny’s strength in his voice which he still continues to maintain.  

As the trailer released on all social media platforms, netizens rushed to comment to on Sunny Deol’s performance. The trailer gave a glimpse into the journey of the Indian Army officer, An Indian Air Force officer, and Indian Navy Office essayed by Varun Dhawan ,Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty respectively.  Alongside with Sunny Deol’s character.

The film opens its door to the personal struggles and challenges faced by the  soldiers to protect our country the enemies during the 1971 Indo- Pak war, and gives you a glimpse of what happens when the Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy come together. 

The dialogue by Sunny Deol invokes a sense of patriotism while we get the goosebumps for real . Sunny Deol also revealed how he was inspired by his father Dharmendra’s film Haqeeyat.

The background music further gives you a boost to keep you engaged and the VFX work during the teaser was released a month prior to the release of the trailer seems cleaner . 

Border 2 set to released worldwide on January  23, 2026 to coincide with India’s Republic Day weekend. Directed and produced by Anurag Singh,  the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and J. P. Dutta who had directed the original film in 1997. 

The trailer of the film has officially been released on January 15th 2026 . The cast is a blend of actors who have a legacy along with the new talent that is a part of the ensemble, starring Sunny Deol who will reprise the role as battle hardened solider, alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh , Ahan Shetty , Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh,  Anya Singh and debutant star Medha Rana. The sound track includes composers Anu Malik, Mithoon and Sonu Nigam who are involved in this grand patriotic spectacle featuring the sequences air strikes , tank strikes and is going to truly be a cinematic experience for all.
