Popular Gujarati actress Brinda Trivedi feels blessed and fortunate that she could share screen-space with the late legendary actress Surekha Sikri who passed away on 16th July 2021 following a massive cardiac arrest. Reminiscing some memories of her the actress said, “She was my super senior in NSD. So being NSD (National School Of Drama) actors, we had a different kind of bonding. Today I feel like I have lost a family member. I had got to meet her even before the National Award in Mumbai and she, despite her age, used to be full of life, her energy and life force were so infectious. She had a great sense of humor, very strong memory and she was way ahead of her time. She used to share incidents about her time in NSD. Whenever she used to recite poetry or Shayari all of us used to get so hypnotized and we wished that she would never stop reciting and we could just keep listening to her.”

Brinda recalls how during her meeting with Sikri, one of her friends clicked a candid picture of the two that she treasures today. She recalls, “We all have witnessed her on-screen arts and excellence but having the opportunity to see and witness her face to face in person is another kind of magical experience. I am fortunate enough to have got that opportunity to meet her as a family member. I couldn't meet her for a longer duration during the National Award as she was very weak at that time. But I did wish her good health and that she recovers soon so that we can meet again very soon. And during that conversation, one of my friends clicked that candid moment and I have that photograph with me now and it brings so many memories, the actress signs off.”
