Asin began her career with the south Indian film industry, later in Bollywood, Her debut film in Tamil was Kumaran  S/O Mahalakshmi opposite Jayam Ravi.

Ullam Ketkumae was supposed to be her debut film but got delayed, eventually when it released it became a super success and this opened many doors for her.

She is the first actress besides actress Padmini) South) to dub her own films, and also known as the Queen of Kollywood, Asin is an actress , model and dancer . Her debut in Malayalam film was titled ‘ Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka(2001)

  In 2003 was her first commercial success. ‘Sivakasi’(2003) , Varalaru, Pokkiri and Ghajini were her Blockbuster films. With all these films she became the top Actress in Tamil films.   Asin did not appear in any movies from 2013 to 2014 and her only release was ‘All the Best’ in 2015 directed by Umesh Shukla.

Asin’s debut in Hindi film industry came with Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan in  2008. Her most successful year started in 2011 with the comedy movie ‘Ready’ opposite Salman Khan directed by Anees Bazmee and was a big hit at the Box Office.

In 2012 she acted in a multistarrer movie titled ‘Housefull 2’ made by Sajid Khan. Asin has acted with top actors of Bollywood like ‘Ready’ (Salman Khan) ‘Bol Bachchan’ (Ajay Devgun & Abhishek Bachchan), Khiladi 786 (Akshay Kumar)

She quit films after getting married. Asin is a trained Bharatanatyam & Kathakali Dancer. Her hobbies are Reading and travelling. Her favourite actor Mohanlal.
