Asin is the member of the Bollywood 100 crore club. She has won the best Tamil actress (Filmfare award) for Ghajini (2005) speaks 8 languages (Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Sanskrit, English, Hindi, French, Basic Marathi.
She has also studied German and Spanish. Asin was honoured by the Tamil Government with the Kalaimamani award. She has studied in the Naval Public School from Class Kg to Grade ten.

Asin is born in a Malayali Syrian Malabari Catholic Family. She was named Asin by her father which means, Pure without Blemish.
Asin began her career with the south Indian film industry, later in Bollywood, Her debut film in Tamil was Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi opposite Jayam Ravi.
Ullam Ketkumae was supposed to be her debut film but got delayed, eventually when it released it became a super success and this opened many doors for her.
