“35 Chinna Katha Kaadu” is a Telugu comedy-drama film written and directed by Nanda Kishore Emani, starring Nivetha Thomas, Arundev Pothula, Vishwadev Rachakonda, and Priyadarshi Pulikonda. The movie is shot in Tirupati and revolves around a middle-class Brahmin family. Saraswati is a housewife, and Prasad is a bus conductor. They have an elder son, Arun, who is not good at maths, and a younger son, Varun, who is very bright at school.
“Arun” is inquisitive and keeps on questioning. His greatest question is zero, how does a number of no value add value to another number? His low grades earn him the nickname "Zero," enraging his father and teachers. When a strict but conscientious teacher, “Chanakya Varma”, arrives at the school, he tries to prod students towards scholarship by addressing them by their grades. Arun's constant questioning bothers him, and he regards Arun as a lost cause.
Chanakya persuades Pavan's dad to shift him to a good school, robbing Arun of his best friend. He also recommends that Arun be shifted to the 5th grade for a good math foundation. Prasad is willing but Saraswati is not. As tensions rise in the household, Arun faces a test of his own; he must score 35 marks in the annual exam to establish himself.
Under increasing pressure from school and home, Arun undergoes a journey of self-discovery, learning the value of resilience and faith in himself. His failures affect his relationships, making it a test for the harmony of his friends and family.
“35 Chinna Katha Kaadu” is a charming mix of sentiments and humor, narrating the experience of an ordinary student in a ruthless world. With well-linked characters and good performance, the film offers an inspirational message regarding determination, family support, and the real worth of education.
