“Adutha Varisu” is an action film from director S. P. Muthuraman. featuring Rajinikanth, Sridevi, Jaishankar and S. Varalakshmi. It’s the classic story of a royal family hunting for their lost heir, with grandma coveting her lost grandchild. Meanwhile, a devious uncle conspires to claim the family fortune and crown by employing a doppelgänger to impersonate the absent princess, igniting a series of trickery, theatrics, and surprise turns of events.

Kannan, a smart yet minor bounty hunter, is employed by rapacious members of a royal family to locate a girl who can impersonate Radha, the long-missing princess. To fool the Queen Mother, Rajalakshmi and rob the royal riches is their plot. In his quest, Kannan comes across Valli, a whirling dervish tribal dancer. So he coaches her in being regal and introduces her to the Queen as Radha. Valli, ignorant of the scheme, believes Kannan and ultimately loves him.

Kannan begins to feel guilty. Upon encountering Valli’s adopted parents, he is stunned to discover that Valli is the true Radha. When he discovers that she is in danger, he chooses to shield her and the Queen from her wicked relatives. In a final confrontation, Kannan overpowers the corrupt zamindar and reveals the facts. Rajalakshmi is ecstatic to discover her true granddaughter and thankful to Kannan for rescuing her. She suggests that Radha wed Kannan. All’s well that ends, as Radha and Kannan tie the knot and ascend the throne as the new and rightful rulers and restoring peace and justice to the kingdom.
