Mala is a wealthy, intelligent and self-sufficient woman. She is highly qualified and runs a business empire all by herself. Her uncle would like her to get married but she is not happy about the traditional idea of a woman being at home and taking care of the household while the man goes out to work and is the bread winner. She decides to reverse the roles. Her uncle thinks she will never find a man who will stay at home and take care of the house while she goes to work. She never-the-less gives an ad in the newspaper and gets many responses. Mala then zeroes in on a poor and unemployed man named Shekhar who agrees to marry her and also signs a one year contract. Mala runs her business as usual, while Shekhar cooks, Cleans and looks after the house. The film is directed by Anil Ganguly and produced by Joginder Singh. The star cast includes Shailendra Singh, Utpal Dutt, Rekha, Sujit Kumar, Sunder Purohit, Sarani, Aruna Irani, Bindu and Sheetal Dinesh Hingoo.
