Meenakshi, played by Rani Mukerji is a simple Maharastrian girl who spends most of her time daydreaming. Her family includes her smoking addict father, mother whose only mission in life is to get Meenakshi married as soon as possible, a wheelchair bound blind grandmother and a younger brother who has profound love for dogs.
Meenakshi lives in her little world of dreams to get away from her family’s crazy drama. Her mother is looking for a suitable groom for her but Meenakshi doesn’t believe in arranged marriages and hopes to meet her prince charming and have a dream wedding just the way she wants it. Just when she is giving up finding Mr right, Surya enters her life. He is a Tamilian artist with a lovely tanned skin and mesmerizing manly fragrance that she finds irresistible.
Meanwhile Meenakshi’s family has already found the guy called Madhav, who they think is perfect for her and are rushing into the wedding preparations. While Meenakshi seeks Surya, Madhav is desperately seeking her. In this laughable chase, her brother gets engaged and now its her turn. She ends up following Surya to his place of work, which is an incense stick factory and realizes that’s how he has that peculiar fragrance. They eventually fall in love and get engaged.
The movie is directed by Sachin Kundalkar and produced by Anurag Kashyap, Guneet Monga, Viacom 18 and Meraj Shaikh. The music is composed by Amit Trivedi.
