Amangal

Amangal is one of the upcoming movies of the drama genre. This new film’s story is set during the backdrop of the sudden COVID 19 lockdown wherein Ashok, a hotel staff personnel and his eight colleagues find themselves stranded inside their own workplace and they are unable to return home. As the sense of urgency and panic spreads across, they all end up rely on each other to cope up with the with isolation and uncertainty. Amid this tense lockdown, the group recalls a chilling incident; wherein some year earlier, a family was brutally murdered in Room No. 307, that leaded to the room's sealing and tarnishing its reputation as a haunted space.  

One fateful night, a careless crew member inadvertently opened the forbidden door. Suddenly unsettling and unexplained incidents commence, when the lights start flickering, the night shifts some distorted soundscapes, and strange whispers begin to fill the cavernous hallway of the old AGM, by sparking a fear that the room’s dark past roared to life once more. Suspicion and paranoia deepens as the terror intensifies, and thereby drags the group into a massive psychological turmoil. What was once harmless tension becomes true terror when another staff member is discovered dead under mysterious, unsettling circumstances .

The hotel staff now being confronted by both supernatural dread and real-world threats, must unravel the mystery of Room No. 307. While alliances form and tensions fracture, each character’s bravery and sanity are being questioned. With no sign of the lockdown ending and no one coming to help, the hotel becomes a claustophrobic battlefield, torn between the living and the, possibly, vengeful, dead. Amangal is one of the recent movie releases that explores the merging of both pandemic isolation and the supernatural horror, producing suspense with tension and a foreboding atmosphere that ends with a troubling moral and emotional judgement for the characters.
