Amaravathi is a romantic drama directed by Selva, starring Ajith Kumar, Sanghavi, Kalyan Kumar and Kavitha in the lead roles. The movie focuses on Amravathi, a simple-minded girl who leaves her home and seeks shelter in Arjun’s household, where she is taken good care of. Everything turns upside down when she is discovered by her only student, Arjun, who falls in love with her and turns her otherwise dull life into something she never dreamed of.
An elderly couple is left heartbroken after their daughter runs away with a coffin maker. They meet Amravathi, a young woman with memory loss who has fled an abusive household. They take her in and raise her as their daughter, drawing the viewer in. Arjun, the heir to a business empire, becomes captivated by Amravathi's naivete and becomes attached to her. With a little nudging from a determined best friend, Arjun musters the courage to profess his love for Amravathi, and they engage in a quick-moving romance.
However, their lives are turned upside down when a news piece announces that Amravathi is the doppelganger of a missing heiress named Angeline. A physician identifies Amravathi as Angeline, the daughter of a rich man who has endured abuse from a vicious uncle. Traumatised by her past and the loss of her mother, Angeline tried to flee her uncle's predatory grasp with her father, leading to her father's death and her memory loss. In a final bid to regain control, the uncle abducts Amravathi, but Arjun earns the day and the love with his sacrifice. Her tragic past is not disclosed by dear and near ones, so that Amravathi and Arjun can lead a new life with plenty of joys and mirth.
Amaravathi is a poignant love story that explores memory and family relationships in everyday life.
