Apoorva Sagodharargal (1989) is an action comedy film by director Singeetam. It features Kamal Haasan, Jaishankar, Nagesh and Gautami. The film centres on twin brothers, Raju and Appu, who were separated in childhood. As adults, Appu sets out on a determined quest for justice, seeking revenge against the criminals responsible for their father's death.
Four powerful individuals who elude justice and return to exact revenge - Dharmaraj, Francis Anbarasu, Nallasivam, and Satyamoorthy are captured by police officer Sethupathi. They murder Sethupathi and poison Kaveri, his pregnant wife, who gives birth to twins. While Appu, a dwarf, grows up in a circus with his mother, Raja, a mechanic, grows up working as a mechanic with Muniyamma. Appu falls in love with Mano, the daughter of the circus owner, but learns about his father's murder. He decides to avenge his father's death.
Raja falls in love with Janaki, who happens to be Satyamoorthy's daughter. Raja is suspected of killing her father's friends and breaks up with him. Raja escapes and becomes a fugitive. He kidnaps Muniyamma and Kaveri, but they realise that Raja is her other son and seek out Muniyamma. Dharmaraj believes Raja is avenging his father's death and kidnaps Kaveri. Appu escapes, helps Raja evade the police, and they team up at the circus. Appu and Raja defeat Dharmaraj's goons in the ensuing conflict, and Dharmaraj is strangled to death. Raja and Janaki reunite as Appu turns himself in to the police.
