Bulbul Tarang

Bulbul Tarang is one of the upcoming movies of the drama genre. This new film’s story is set against the backdrop of the quaint village of Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh. The story is centred around Bulbul, who is a vivacious young woman with one obvious wish: to have her fiancé, Rishi Kumar, come to their wedding on a mare. As simple as it sounds, this innocent wish puts her up against deep-rooted societal norms and long-standing centuries of customs, including the weight of dowry as well as traditional marriage rituals.  

Having made a massive commitment to fulfil her wish, Bulbul embarks on a journey through the realities and implications of dowries. Her earnest revolt illustrates the ridiculousness of rituals and gender bias embedded in the traditional societies. In a story that was set up to demonstrate how Bulbul ‘fights for what’s right’ a true romantic comedy can be found with a sharp social commentary, and the ideas of personal agency and questioning something that is considered harshly moral. 

The story ultimately finishes with a feel-good ending; a bride who is able to insist on her dream, a groom who is willing to rise to the occasion, and a community that will be forced to re-evaluate tradition.  Bulbul Tarang is one of the recent movie releases that has shed light on the difficulties that a bride has to face throughout her life through the drama, suspense, and thrill, along with the attractive visuals and a realistic storyline.
