“Chennaiyil Vannam megamootathudan Kaanapadum” is a Tamil thriller drama released in 2024, and it was written and directed by Ramesh Govindarajan. Mohan Babu, Mime Gope and Anish Padmanabhan played the lead role in the film.

"Chennaiyil Vaanam Megamootathudan Kaanapadum" is an adrenaline-pumping one-night story in which several happenings take place and get weaved together through a set of varied characters, who are to unite to thwart a horrific disaster. The movie is about the desperate race against time as a terrorist plans a bombing, and a RAW agent, played by

“Ramesh Govindarajan”, is set to thwart him. The agent gets vital information, and with the assistance of local people, he has to run through the chaos of the city to prevent the attack.

That same night, a politician portrayed by "Mime Gopi", follows a mysterious man, which adds another layer to the night's happenings. At the same time, someone posts a private video of a girl played by "Harini Rameshkrishnan", on the internet. This compels her to work through the ramifications and ill attitudes of individuals. The film likewise has a hero, played by Anish Padmanabhan, who finds himself lost within his world and is getting intoxicated at a drinking joint, clueless to what lies in front of him out in the world at night.

Central to the narrative is “Ayyanar's Aruval” (the sickle of Ayyanar god), a symbol that binds all the characters. As the evening wears on, the lives of the characters get entangled by their association with the sickle, and each individual's action becomes crucial in the ultimate confrontation.

The movie is a plunge into social issues; politics, individual challenges, and coming together in times of need; and conveying strong messages of strength and togetherness.
