“Damayanthi” is a Kannada horror-comedy film based on mythological aspects, directed by Navarasan. The film is a blend of supernatural comedy and suspense. Radhika Kumaraswamy acts out a complex character in the film, alongside G. K. Reddy, Saurav Lokesh, Anushka Ravi, and Sadhu Kokila.

The film is about a boy named “Vicky”, who is in charge of clearing his late father's debts. Desperate to seek an avenue, he finds out from his mother that they have an ancestral bungalow in Devapura, which their family vacated years ago. Afraid of rumors that the house is haunted, Vicky resolves to sell the house to clear his debts. He joins his friends to try and finalize the transaction within a stipulated time.

On reaching the mansion, they start experiencing some weird events. The friends learn soon enough that Damayanthi, a vengeful ghost who is demanding justice, haunts the house. Damayanthi was the daughter of Rajendra Varma, a member of Devapura's royal family. She was a good doctor and kind-hearted and spent her life in happiness until she was betrayed by Bhyra, one of her greedy relatives. For money and power, Bhyra brutally murdered Damayanthi and her loved ones.

Years go by, and her spirit haunts the house, waiting for her time to seek revenge. With the presence of Vicky and his friends, she gets the backing she needs to finally seek revenge on Bhyra for what he has done. What follows is a blend of spine-tingling experiences, comic moments, and thrilling moments of discovery as Vicky and his friends help Damayanthi get justice.

Based on the 2017 Telugu film Anando Brahma, “Damayanthi” has a suspenseful storyline with myth, mystery, and comedy. Damayanthi also got dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu (as Samharini), and the film touched more viewers. As a horror-comedy film, Damayanthi has a suspenseful film experience that engages viewers until the end.
