“Darbar” is a 2020 Tamil action thriller film written and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, with Lyca Productions producing this movie. The movie features Rajinikanth, Suniel Shetty, Nayanthara, and Nivetha Thomas.
“Aditya Arunachalam” was the Mumbai Police Commissioner, who was very notorious for his encounter killings of the criminals. When he was sent to complete drug peddling and prostitution-related cases, he crushed some powerful rogues, like “Ajay Malhotra”, who was a businessman's son. But this Ajay was a doppelganger and the original Ajay was in Bangkok. Aditya caught him but soon his own men went ahead to kill the original Ajay as the treads were getting covered.
Later it came out that Ajay was Hari Chopra, the notorious gangster, who a few years ago massacred some police officials in Mumbai. So Hari once again turns up for vengeance upon his son's account and murdered Valli-the daughter of Aditya-as a consequence of an accident. Thus, her death bereaved him much more than it used to. And so Aditya starts out with further hatred as he recognizes Hari as behind the murder of his daughter.
He tries to execute more policeman killings. Aditya catches him up. He reaches the final massacre location of Hari to which he has committed the mass killings. Hari and him begin the violent scuffle which leads to killing the body of Hari. This finally puts an end to the crime spree. The final shot allows the director to make a comment on the return of the officer Aditya with a purpose in his mind.
“Darbar” is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video in multiple languages.
