“DeAr” is a Tamil romantic drama directed by Anand Ravichandran and starring G. V. Prakash Kumar and Aishwarya Rajesh. The movie depicts “Arjun”, a newsreader in Chennai with light sleep, and “Deepika”, a Coonoor girl whose marriageable age passes with her snoring issue. They are fixed to marry by their mothers, old friends, and the couple adjusts well initially. But soon their sleep issues also start creating discomfort. Deepika attempts to remain awake, but her snoring wakes Arjun up, causing them to argue incessantly. After trying to get medical assistance, they realize there is no cure, so they have to resort to an alternating sleeping pattern.

Arjun's professional life suffers when he dozes off during a critical interview, and he is publicly humiliated and loses his job. Fuming, he goes for a divorce, disregarding Deepika's appeals. His obstinacy puts a strain on his family life, and he leaves home. When Deepika finds out she is pregnant, Arjun does not agree to reconcile and so she thinks of abortion. Arjun's mother gets ailing and wants to see her estranged husband, Shanmugam. Deepika persuades Arjun to trace him, and they bring him home, uniting the family once more. This experience makes Arjun realize how much his obstinacy has caused pain to his loved ones.

On the last day of the divorce trial, Arjun and Deepika change their minds and decide to remain together. "DeAr" is an emotional piece that examines love and family, while also wrestling with the idea of compromise in a relationship. The film finds a happy medium between emotional impact, silliness to make for an easy and enjoyable watch.
