Synopsis

Laila is brought up in a brothel and has become a famous dancer at a five star hotel owned by Digvijay. One day she gets a call from her dying mother, who tells her that she had adopted her 18 years ago and isn’t her real mother. Laila is left in shock and heart broken. Meanwhile Karan who is in love with Laila, offers to help in search of her biological mother. The search leads them to a mid aged woman named Razia. She tells them that years ago three college friends named Barkha, Salma and Raaj were dating three handsome men and one of them accidentally got pregnant. They manage to get the baby delivered and name her Sitara, but leave her with Razia. They promise her that whoever gets married first will adopt her. All there get so busy in their lives that they forget their promise. Later the three women are invited and confronted but walk away. When Sitara/Laila is attacked by goons, she is saved by one of the women’s husbands. That is when Barkha confesses that she is her real mother and Sunil, her husband the real father. The film is directed and produced by HemaMalini. The music is composed by Anand Milind. The story and screenplay is written by Imtiaz Hussain. The star cast includes Jeetendra,Mithun Chakraborty, Dimple Kapadia,Amrita Singh,Diya Bharati, Sonu Walia,Kabir Bedi,Shahrukh Khan,Naseer Abdullah,Raza Murad,Farida Jalal,Been,Sushma Seth,Sulbha Deshpande,Mohan Agashe,Ram Mohan, Satyen Kappu, Shiva, Bob Christo and Bhushan Tiwari.
