"Eleven" (2025) is an upcoming Telugu crime thriller film directed and written by Lokkesh Ajls. The film features Naveen Chandra and Reyaa Hari in the lead and is released in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. The plot revolves around an efficient officer who gets assigned a gruesome serial murder case that challenges his courage as well as his instincts.
In the coastal area of Vizag, a series of ghastly murders rocks the city, with each murder having a similar and eerie pattern. ACP Aravind (Naveen Chandra), with his impeccable record in solving difficult cases, is put in charge of the investigation. Initially, Aravind finds it difficult to come across any tangible evidence, and pressure mounts as the number of victims increases. A tiny, momentous lead on one of the victims finally provides him with direction. As he gets deeper, Aravind begins piecing together the clues, which take off in a shocking direction towards a horrific truth about the motive and identity of the killer. The more he investigates, the more dangerous and personal the case gets.
The suspense mounts when Aravind realises the murderer is not a mere criminal but someone closely involved with the past. Every murder carries a symbolic value, and the motive lies in some past injustice that has been overlooked. Aravind is working against time, and with every lead, he is moving towards the final confrontation. The issue is whether he will catch the murderer or not.
"Eleven" attempts to serve up an engaging crime thriller, but although it boasts a good starting point and a good lead in Naveen Chandra, the movie falters in its follow-through. The first half is slow-going with very little tension, which could try viewers' patience. Nevertheless, the second half is more intense and better defined. There are a few excellent scenes in the film, and it fares better for fans of slow-burning thrillers, but expectations should be moderated.
